( semi-open ) love is a many splendored thing

Who: Everyone who signed up for SHIPPING
Where: All around Wonderland! See below for specific locations.
When: Tuesday, September 9, evening
Rating: PG13 just to be safe, but if anything gets steamy (she hopes it does), I can up the rating.
Summary: Becky sets Wonderlanders up on blind dates. Also, will be image heavy.
The Story:

You receive a letter under your door sometime on the afternoon of Tuesday, September 9. This letter will be addressed to you in fancy script (Becky's best attempt at calligraphy) from a "secret admirer." You might be wondering, but it isn't February! What's with all the romantic nonsense? Well, my good friend, romance can be celebrated on more than just one day out of the year. That day happens to be today. The letter will ask you to meet your secret admirer at 6PM at a designated location. You'd best not be late! A night of romance (and perhaps even intimacy) awaits you! At least, she hopes so...

It isn't every day that the Doctor gets letters, and it most certainly is not every day that said letters come from a secret admirer. For one thing, he can't imagine who that might be, or why anyone would secretly admire him. Oh, he's great for providing adventures and excitement, but surely there's others to admire.

But either way, a letter is a letter, and in spite of himself, the Doctor can't help but feel just a few pinpricks of excitement. So, with fifteen or twenty minutes to go till 6 PM, the Doctor makes his way down to the designated area of meeting, namely the hedge maze.

He's early, so it seems to him that his secret admirer hasn't arrived, but then again, if he doesn't know who he or she is, recognizing them might be a bit of a challenge. But either way, if a person shows up looking a bit unsure of themselves, then chances are, they're the one. The only thing to do now is wait and see.

This had to be Jane's doing. Seriously, she didn't know anyone else that could have possibly tried to arrange this, although this was not like her at all. She follows the instructions, actually putting in some effort of dressing up - even if she feels like it's gonna be a big joke. Darcy makes her way down from the seventh floor to the hedge maze, soft curls bouncing as she moves.

She's not all that surprised when she notices someone else there, although it's not at all who she'd expected to see. Toying with the sleeves of her burgundy shirt, she gives him a small smile before pulling the note out from her pocket.

"Did, uh, did you get a note too?"

It's possible this was Martha's doing, but somehow, the Doctor wondered if this was a practical joke on the part of the mansion. But after debating about it, he came to the conclusion that it would just drive him up the proverbial wall if he didn't go, so he dressed up a bit (not to extremes, but something clearly smart-casual) and went.

And then when Darcy turns up, he smiles and waves, also pulling out the note he received. "I did, but I don't recognize the handwriting. Do you have any idea who might've done this?"

"I have no clue, but it could be worse." At least they weren't still on the trail as ghosts. It's an improvement. "So if the note is true, then there's a picnic at the middle of the maze... I don't know about you but I'm curious to see what's waiting for us."

She had yet to make it to the center of the hedge maze, not really something she's explored a lot in her time here. It could be a lot of fun or ridiculously frustrating.

"What do ya say? Should we give it a whirl? See if we can actually make it to the middle?"

"Oh, I'm not complaining. This could absolutely be a lot worse. Oh, and by the way, I'm sorry, but I can't remember if we've met already or not. My name's the Doctor, and you are?" He might well have, but details did flit in and out of his mind at a rapid pace, and sometimes things did slip through the cracks, so to speak.

"Well, I do love a good picnic, and a maze is interesting too, so why not?"

And if there was another thing the Doctor loved, that was an adventure, which this definitely counted as. "Of course we should try it. Come on, then, let's go!" He took a step forward, but then turned back to wait for her. Something like this was best done together, but if Darcy took long enough, then she might find herself needing to play catch-up with the Doctor who was looking eagerly back at her.

"I think so, although we were ghosts at the time... Darcy." And she can't argue with his logic, making a point to not keep him waiting. She was used to people moving at a ridiculously fast pace... Perks of having to deal with a caffeinated scientist.

"I've never made it to the middle so this should be fun." And hopefully a far more positive experience than the last time she was in here. When they reach their first choice, she gives him a smirk.

"Right or left, Doctor?"

"Oh, right, ghosts. That was a bit unpleasant, or at least, inconvenient." After a few times of pranking people and startling them, the novelty wore off a bit. "Sorry you died, though." 'Sorry' wasn't really an adequate word, but still, he had to say something.

"I've just wandered around the perimeter of it myself, so I agree with you completely." He winks at her in return, and points to the left. "Left is a good direction. I like going left. Does that sound alright to you?"

Well, all right, he liked going right as much as he did going left, but still, left was a very good direction in his opinion.

"It was definitely something, and I don't know if it actually counts thanks to the whole ghost-y period." It's not an experience she'd like to repeat, but obviously she wasn't the only one to go through it. "Sorry you died too."

She lets a small laugh slip out at his logic, "Works for me." Left was as good as right at the moment, no real plan on how to get to the center.

"So, do you do this kind of thing often? Wander through mazes with random people?"
